Looking For a Sale? It May Be Right Under Your Nose!

Have you been wondering why we haven’t had a sale in a while yet? You may have just been looking in the wrong places! We have placed many items on sale in store and online. So that top or dress you may have had your eye on before may be on sale now! From brand names like Free People, Blank NYC, Flying Monkey, and more, we have marked down items and placed them on the floor. Brands We Love: BB Dakota

Finding summer dresses is easy, but finding a summer dress that is stellar and not out of budget is hard! That’s why we love BB Dakota, a women’s (that’s right, not juniors!) line of whimsical prints and classic cuts that are easy picks for the summer. We love their use of pop prints, and unique pieces like the one piece jumper, and sequin tank (if you see it in person, the sequins have been printed on, so cool!) These pieces are the go-to picks for summer dinners, lunches, and parties that you have coming up!

 

 

The prints are great additions to any closet, and although many may be wary of how to style prints, the best way is to think of them as solid colors! The romper is mainly blueish purple, so pair it with a great denim jacket and some colored flats. The feather print dress is a black/white combo, so play it up with a neon jacket or blazer, or pastel cardigan. And what is more classic for summer than a white pant, which looks awesome with the blues of the sequin tank. This top can also be matched with denim, or skirts.

 

The last dress, the “elin dress”, has seen a lot of press for its pleated full skirt and bubblegum trendy color. It was recently printed in Glamour Magazine.

Trending Thursday: White Dresses!

With the springtime soon leaving us and summer sliding its way onto our doorsteps, we’re happy to lose the jeans and leggings behind some days and opt for dresses! Nothing is more comfortable than a flowy spring dress, and we have tons of new arrivals of dresses that are great for brunch dates, birthdays, and graduations! One of our top picks for this season is white! Despite all the hype around neon and bright colors (we do much of the hyping ourselves), we will always be fans of the crisp and clean white shade. The color has also been seen across many runways and celebrity events. Taylor Swift was a showstopper in her amazing J.Mendal gown at the AMC Awards in Las Vegas. The modern silhouette and the gold accents were so flattery to her figure, and the minimalist look was kicked up a notch with tasteful cutouts on the sides of dress. She paired the look with a sleek blowout, which elegantly accented her sophisticated look.

Brands We Love: Triple C Glam

We always try to give you all a mix of the new and exciting products that we find on the markets, and today we are sharing one that we are really excited to bring into our store. iPhone accessories produced by Triple C Glam are hot hot hot! And we’re not just talking about their super cute designs. This line of phone accessories is an awesome change from your ordinary case. The silicone wrap around casings are great protection from accidents, and are super affordable!

The cases fit all iPhone 4 and 4s, and are easy to place on! Another product we are really excited about is the “power mate plus” gadget from Triple C Glam. This is a small battery that can be charged and kept in your car, desk at work, or in your purse or backpack for those times your on the go and need more juice! Rowing for Autism: This Saturday!

As we have mentioned in previous posts, this month is Autism Awareness Month! We at the store have hosted a benefit sale day in order to raise awareness and support for Autism Speaks, and today would like to share with you an event that the awesome Port Rowing Team is doing this Saturday, April 21st to further bring awareness to the issue with the increased incidence of Autism and also the issues concerning this condition and the challenges of the families dealing with adolescents and teenagers with Autism.

The great minds at Port Rowing are hoping to create an Adaptive Rowing Program to serve adolescents and teenagers with disabilities. The program will provide a one week camp session, as well as  an ongoing rowing program with the possibility of competitive racing events! There is also the mentoring component of this program, which offers local high school students the opportunity to shadow and mentor one of the participants in the program. Mentors have served as excellent role models for the disabled boys, but also great representation to their colleagues as well.

The team hopes that this event raises $50,000. This will allow the purchase of 3 more boats and also the ability to offer subsidies for the program and camps to parents who express financial hardship.
